It's been overdue - but that's on me. I've been working with the folks at Dollar A Day Websites & Marketing in Brandon, MS to build out this custom blog system, and here it is. Finally I have a place that I can put content out there, and no third-party moderation can deny, delete, hide, nor dis-allow it.
I can put my thoughts here, and then share it to other platforms. If those other platforms suppress it, it still exists here, and all the SEO and crawlers things can still index me for web search. The internet and social media has a forgetting problem - where efforts intended to either delegate control or ensure "safety" have just made it increasingly difficult to put information out there to reach people. I often wonder what great minds of our time just gave up over moderators..
I've spent hours compiling a response to a video tutorial for the betterment of all concerned viewers only to have the author take down my comment because I guess they felt I was trying to draw away subscribers. I wasn't and I didn't save my comment locally - I was just typing into that other platform - and now all that work is gone to me, no way to recover it but do all the work again, a time suck I cannot afford. Another time I put the word "jerk" in a tutorial I wrote and the social media group auto-deleted the post because it was an offensive word, again with my work Thanos-snapped out of existence. I was referencing the motion, not name-calling.
No more!
This is my blog. There are many like it, but this one is mine..
